This initiative brings together three complementary actors—Amahoro Tours, Red Rocks Rwanda Community Benefit Company, and Red Rocks Initiative for Sustainable Development—each playing a distinct yet interconnected role in advancing community-based tourism (CBT).

At the forefront, Amahoro Tours connects Rwanda’s unique experiences to the global market. Through strategic marketing, sales, and destination promotion, the company ensures that travelers discover authentic, community-led experiences that go beyond gorilla trekking tourism.

On the ground, Red Rocks Rwanda Community Benefit Company safeguards the quality and integrity of these experiences. Through strong monitoring and evaluation systems, it ensures that tourism products meet high standards while remaining deeply rooted in local culture and traditions.

Complementing this, Red Rocks Initiative for Sustainable Development strengthens the link between tourism, community livelihoods, and conservation. By empowering local people, especially women and youth, it ensures that tourism revenues translate into tangible social benefits while actively supporting environmental stewardship.

Together, these three entities form more than a partnership—they create an integrated model. This model enhances visitor experiences while directly improving livelihoods, preserving cultural heritage, and protecting biodiversity. It demonstrates that tourism, when thoughtfully designed, can be a force for inclusive growth and environmental resilience. A key platform showcasing this model is the Community-Based Tourism Fair. This event brings together stakeholders to share best practices, inspire innovation, and build meaningful partnerships. It is both a visibility platform and a catalyst for new ideas and investments in sustainable tourism.
