Tourism development projects have great potential to contribute to the 2030 Agenda through their implementation and impacts. However, due to the lack of measurement of tourism project impacts, outputs and inputs against the SDGs, it has been challenging to assess the contribution of each project to the achievement of the goals in an objective and harmonized manner. To address this challenge, Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) has developed the Toolkit of Indicators for Projects (TIPs).
